Ministries

The Music Ministry of Hillcrest Baptist Church not only includes an adult Choir that practices weekly at 5:30 pm but special music of soloists, and regularly scheduled Gospel singing groups from outside the church in concert on Sunday evenings. We try to schedule one each month.

Our choir presents special music during Easter and Christmas. Music does not prepare us to worship, as some have said, music is worship and we like to worship our God and Savior.

Youth Ministry

We believe that our Youth Ministry is crucial because youth have the opportunity to live their whole lives for Jesus. We strongly believe that these are the years when Christian principles must be taught to our young people and that by living them they can save themselves so much heartache in this life.

We provide positive opportunities for our youth through our Sunday School, Bible study on Sunday evenings and monthly activities.

Our Youth have the opportunity to participate in mission projects around the church as well as everywhere they go. Bro. Jeremiah and Kebra Nimmo lead our youth group in all these activities. Our Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow but they are the witnesses of today.

Children's Ministry

We at Hillcrest Baptist Church, believe that children are one of God's greatest gifts and they deserve our very best. Therefore, we offer a broad range of activities in which children experience acceptance, engage in learning, enjoy themselves, and express their faith. It is our goal that each boy and girl experience God's love through appropriate Bible study and through loving teachers, which leads to life-changing experiences and helps them understand God has a special plan for their lives.

We want every child to see the Pastor and church leaders as friends and people that they can come to with any problem or concern. We also want them to see church as a very important part of their lives.

Women On Mission

An organization made up of women 18 years and older, who believe in prayer. The primary emphasis of Women on Mission is home, state and foreign missions. In addition, our monthly meetings consist of:

1. Developing ministry projects that fit Hillcrest Baptist Church
2. Developing missions prayer involvement throughout Hillcrest Baptist Church
3. Finding new avenues of mission involvement at Hillcrest Baptist Church
4. Encouraging participation by those who have not yet become involved in missions and ministry
5. They sew at Brithaven Nursing Home every month.
6. They contact and minister to the shut-ins of the church.
7. They lead in our ministry to Oneida Baptist School, Wayside Christian Mission, Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, and all of our special mission offerrings.

Women on Mission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 A.M. at the church unless otherwise announced. All ladies are invited.

Operation Outreach

Operation Outreach is our attemp to reach every person in our community with the love of Jesus Christ. We go out and knock on doors and let God lead from there.

Operation Outreach is open to everyone in the church. Those who can't go out and knock on doors can support this ministry by watching the children of those who do, or by praying before and as the teams go out.

Outreach comes in various form, such as personal visits, phone calls and letters or cards.

Operation Inreach

We at Hillcrest believes that the Church is a family and each member must be nurtured and ministered to as individuals. We attempt through "Operation Inreach" to contact every person in the church often to see how things are going and if we find a problem to help them with it any way that we can.

TeamKID Club

TeamKID is a Discipleship Club for children and preschoolers. The TeamKID Motto describes well what we try to accomplish through TeamKID.

TeamKID combines recreation activities, creative Bible story presentations, Bible verse memorization, and application to life. It is designed so that children learn biblical principles and develop skills that will help them make wise decisions in life.

This year, the title is Day By Day! These meetings focus on the issues and concerns that pull children in different directions. Children can learn to trust God's never-changing love as they make difficult decisions day by day.

Nursery

Nursery is provided for every service when needed. This is not just a baby sitting ministry but an oportunity to impact babies through 3 year olds with the reality of God's love and to make church a happy place for our children. They are constantly being taught that God is a loving God and has made all things. Children who participate in a church nursery do much better when they go off to school.

The workers are dedicated and loving and learn so much from God's little ones.

Children's Church

Children's Church is an opportunity for preschoolers to learn how to worship, experience acceptance, engage in learning, enjoy themselves, and express their faith. Children's Church takes place during the morning worship hour.

We take opportunity to incorporate the children in the main worship service every month. Also, whenever one of their older friends is being baptized they will visit to watch. We believe that Children's Church is age appropriate worship that is preparing our little ones to join their families in the "Big" worship service.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is an annual, week-long outreach event full of fun, excitement and Bible study. Boys and girls enjoy exploring the Bible with their friends and learning more about God, His will and His word. Every night there are times of Bible study activities, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks.

It is the hardest week of the year for the teachers and workers. They come to church every night from 7:00 to 9:00 pm after working a full day. Many times without dinner. By the end of the week they are exhausted. But every year the same teachers volunteer again because it is a wonderful opportunity to change kids lives for eternity.

Each year the VBS has a theme and we decorate the whole church accordingly.

Woman to Woman

Woman to Woman is a three part minsitry meeting the needs of women thirteen years and up. It is open to all the ladies of the church and community. Its purpose consists of:

1. Discipleship Bible Study classes.
2. Mentoring ministry with training, developing relationships, and coffee involved.
3. And there is the Hope Outreach Ministry to those in the community.
