Pastor
Ron & Connie Towles
Pastor Ron and his wife Connie are originally from Baltimore, Maryland where they owned several businesses and raised their family. Pastor Ron was called into the ministry shortly after his dramatic conversion experience.
He was pastor of a mission church in Owens Mills, MD when God called him to go to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to get more training. He came to Louisville, KY and has been here ever since. He has been pastor of Hillcrest since September 10, 1989.
Pastor Ron and Connie have three grown children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and five grandchildren who all attend Hillcrest. Michelle Berson, the pianist, is their daughter.
Youth Ministers
Jeremiah & Kebra Nimmo
Jeremiah and Kebra are both Kentucky natives. Jeremiah is a graduate of Boyce College at Southern Seminary. He is an ordained minister of the Gospel. Bro. Jeremiah is a Louisville Metro police officer who was awarded the Medal Of Honor for bravery.
Jeremiah is the son of a Baptist preacher and met and married Kebra, a member of his father's church, where he was Youth Minister.
They came to join our staff in 2002. God blessed them with a daughter, Laken Grace, in October 2009. And of course there is Pebbles their Jack Russell Terrier. Kebra is a X-ray technician with Norton Orthopaedic Specialists.
Assistant Youth Minister
Zack Swillinger
Zack is the oldest son of Stephanie (church clerk) and David Swillinger (deacon). He works in the family Lawn care Business, Turf Tailors.
Zack is a member of the choir, VBS worker, and nursery worker. He is willing to lead a hand anywhere.
Minister of Music
John Gibson
John joined our team on April 8, 2007. He is a graduate of Boyce College and is now enrolled at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
John is a multi-talented musician. He plays the guitar, bango, and piano. John teaches guitar lessons at the church, leads the choir, works with the youth in drama and music, and write hymns.
John is from Taft, Tennessee where his parents and family lives. He is an avid Braves fan.
Pianist
Michelle Berson
Michelle is the daughter of Pastor Ron and Connie. She graduated from Bellermine University with a BA in accounting and the University of Louisville with a masters in business administration (MBA). She is also a CPA.
Michelle's husband Eric is a professor of Chemical engineering at the University of Louisville.
She has been church pianist since 1992 and is a very accomplished musician. She began playing the piano when she was 5 years old. Michelle and Eric have two children, Colby born in December, 2006 and Avery born in June, 2009.
Pianist
Becky Grenade
Becky and husband Pascal are soon to be foreign missionaries. They have been accepted by the mission board and they are preparing now. Pascal is a recent graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Becky is the daughter of missionaries to France.
Becky is an accomplished pianist and violinist.
Church Clerk & Secretary
Stephanie Swillinger
Stephanie and David have 4 children. Zach is a part of the Youth Team. Megan just graduated from Ohio State and will be working in Chicago. Chelsea graduated from South Oldham High and is on her way to the University of Kentucky. Seth is a senior at South Oldham High and plays base guitar in our Soul Patch trio.
